We're not just in a planetary emergency - we're in a planetary ceremony.

In my lecture "Beyond Omega," I laid out a visionary perspective on the converging crises and awakenings shaking our world. Drawing from over two decades of deep ecological inquiry, Indigenous wisdom, and immersive psychedelic exploration, I didn't just diagnose the problems - I extended a sacred invitation to see them differently.

Apocalypse Means Revelation

I began by assuring the audience, perhaps provocatively, that we're not witnessing the end of the world - but rather the beginning of a transformation. Climate instability, political turmoil, ecological breakdown - these aren't random or purely negative phenomena. They are initiatory experiences. They're rites of passage. Just like in a deep psychedelic ceremony, the old has to fall away to make space for something new. And this transformation is not just about the planet-it's about us, individually and collectively, awakening to our interconnectedness and shared responsibility.

Over the years, I've facilitated and experienced many altered states. I've seen how ego death, while often terrifying, is also the birthplace of renewal. I see the same happening in our collective story. The collapse of societal structures isn't a failure - it's a call to reconnect, to reimagine, to remember the sacred. And in this remembering, we find hope for a collective rebirth, a new way of being that is rooted in connection and reverence for life.

The apocalypse in Greek simply means the revelation of the truth. The ego doesn't die. It gets held by something greater.

When I said that, I wasn't speaking in metaphor. I was pointing to a fundamental energetic shift I've witnessed - in myself, in others, and now, in the world. What's crumbling isn't who we are, but who we thought we were. And the truth that's being revealed? That we've always been part of something larger. My personal transformation is a testament to the power of this shift, and I believe each of you has the potential for a similar awakening.

Cycles Within Cycles

From there, I zoomed out. Way out. Thousands of years out. I brought in the Mayans, the Hopi, the cultures that knew time isn't linear - it spirals. It dances. They tracked celestial rhythms with staggering precision, understanding that what happens above affects what unfolds below.

In my research and personal experience, I came across the idea of the galactic current sheet - waves of high-frequency energy that spiral out from the Galactic Centre every 12,000 years. This isn't just speculative mysticism. NASA's data backs this up: black holes, solar flares, and a weakening magnetosphere. It's all happening.

Every 12,000 years, the galactic current passes through our solar system… The Earth drops its magnetic field to receive it.

To me, this isn't just astrophysics - it's consciousness science. These cosmic waves don't just shift the climate - they move us. Ancient civilizations knew how to align with these waves. They built their rituals, temples, and worldviews around them. We've forgotten - but we can remember. And remembering might be the most essential act of our time.

Psychedelics: The Training Wheels

After exploring the macrocosm, I brought it back to the micro - the personal. Our bodies. Our minds. Our consciousness. For over 25 years, I've worked with sacred medicines like ayahuasca and 5-MeO-DMT. These aren't just healing tools - they're training wheels. They're technologies for navigating the very same transformational process the planet is now going through.

I explained how these medicines interrupt the default mode network - the brain's way of holding onto the ego - and open us to the greater reality that's always been there - a reality of connection, humility, awe.

The psychedelic experience trains us for ego dissolution… It's the gateway to reconnecting with the divine within.

Psychedelics don't show us anything we don't already carry. They help us remember. And perhaps most profoundly, some of the most potent substances - like 5-MeO-DMT - aren't just found in the toad or the plant. They're in us.

"The thing I like about medicines like 5-MeO-DMT is that it's not just out there in the toad or the plants. It's in us. It's endogenously produced."

That's the game-changer. We're not separate from the divine - we are it, encoded in flesh. These substances awaken what's already within.

Indigenous Wisdom is the Map

Of course, none of this is new. Indigenous cultures have held this knowing for millennia. The Hopi. The Kogi. The Shipibo. The Dogon. They see time as cyclical. They honour the land. They understand initiation and prophecy. When I shared their stories in the lecture, it wasn't to romanticize - it was to remind us that we have maps. We've just strayed from them. The urgency and practicality of these teachings should motivate us to reconnect with this wisdom.

One of my favourite teachings comes from the Hopi:

"The Hopi say the river is running fast now. Let go of the shore. Find out who is with you."

This isn't poetry - it's prophecy. The river is life. The shore is the old paradigm. It's time to let go, to trust, to reach for each other. These teachings are urgent. They are practical. They are what will carry us through. And in this trust and remembrance of our sacred nature, we find reassurance and inspiration for the journey ahead.

From Emergency to Emergence

I didn't sugarcoat the ecological crisis. The data is there. Tipping points are being crossed. The Arctic is melting faster than ever. The jet stream is destabilising. But I refuse to stop at despair. Because from this breakdown comes a breakthrough. From emergency comes emergence.

"We're in a planetary ego dissolving. It's an opportunity to let go."

What if this is a sacred unraveling? What if the collapse of systems is making space for a new way of being - one that's aligned, rooted, and awake?

Consciousness is the Golden Thread

Throughout the talk, I returned again and again to consciousness. Because it's the thread that runs through everything, it's not just brain activity. It's non-local. It's broadcast from the stars. It's encoded in our DNA.

Science calls 97% of our DNA "junk." But I don't buy it. What if it's waiting to be switched on?

"97% of our DNA is called 'junk,' but it's not junk. It's latent. It's waiting to be activated."

And what activates it? Light. Frequency. Vibration. Ceremony. Love. These ancient technologies aren't fringe - they're the keys to our evolution.

The Omega Point and Beyond

I wrapped up by speaking about the Omega Point - a term borrowed from Teilhard de Chardin. To me, it describes this very moment. The convergence of ecological collapse, AI, spiritual awakening, and the breakdown of every outdated system we've relied on. We're approaching a singularity - a fork in the road.

"This isn't happening to us. It's happening for us."

What if everything that's falling apart is doing so to reveal the truth? What if this is our collective rebirth?

The Omega Point isn't the end. It's the beginning. And what comes next is up to us.

Final Word

This is a planetary ceremony - a sacred initiation. Just like in medical work, we're being asked to breathe, to feel, to trust. To let go of what we think we know, and remember who we really are.

The training wheels are off. It's time to ride the wave - together.
